Martin Hitt has 30 years experience broking in the Lloyd’s market with EW Payne, Winchester Bowring (later Guy Carpenter), Benfield and Aon through which he has developed an extensive network of contacts with Lloyd’s Brokers & Managing Agencies, Insurance & Reinsurance Companies, Statistical & Hazard Modelling Consultants & Corporate Finance Advisers. In April 2009 he joined Insurance Synergy to draw these contacts & experience together to facilitate the identification & placement of high quality individuals from these disciplines into the Lloyd’s / London market-place. Martin formed Hitt Search Associates in September 2011.

Zoe Bolton is an Associate of Hitt Search and the founder & Managing Director of Bolton Associates and is a headhunter specialising in the placement of Actuaries, predominantly within the Lloyd’s / London Insurance market. Zoe joined Darwin Rhodes in 1999 and spent over 8 years there, leaving as Managing Director before, following brief tenures with Marshall Warburton & Carlton Hodges, she formed Bolton Associates in affiliation with the Eliot Partnership in 2010. With 13 years experience in this highly niche sector, Zoe is one of the longest standing Actuarial headhunters in our business and has worked with the majority of Lloyd’s Managing Agencies, London Market Insurance Companies & Consultancies and assisted with the formation & development of many of the existing Actuarial divisions in the market.

Chris Denniston is an Associate of Hitt Search and Managing Director of Denniston Consulting, through which he provides Independent Review & Internal Audit services and Compliance & Risk consultancy to the Lloyds’s market. Chris has over 30 years Lloyd’s experience, initially as a Treaty & LMX underwriter for Jardine Reinsurance Management’s Lloyd’s Binder, before joining the new JH Venton Syndicate as Deputy to Jeremy Venton in 1985.  He moved to the Lloyd’s Regulatory Division (GRD) in 1993 to set up its Market Intelligence unit and was later involved in establishing Lloyd’s Realistic Disaster Scenarios among other high-profile projects, before forming Denniston Consulting in 2001. Chris enjoys long-standing & successful working relationships with around a dozen Lloyd’s Managing Agencies which are household names in the market.

Nick Eddery-Joel is an Associate of Hitt Search and Managing Director of Hillway Consulting, an operational consultancy working across the UK Insurance sector with a particular focus on Solvency II. Nick has 30 years Lloyd’s / London Insurance market experience, starting out as a US & UK Direct Property underwriter with TW Brien, Syndicate 15 in 1980 before becoming Outwards Reinsurance Manager and later Agency Manager of Stewart Underwriting. He joined Hampden in 1998, where he managed the start-up of the new Heritage Managing Agency (now Argo International) among other projects and later moved to Axiom in 2001 as a Claims Consulting Director, before instigating Axiom’s £20m MBO from Aon in 2004. Nick joined Afinia Capital as COO in 2007, additionally generating & analysing investment opportunities for Afinia in the Distressed Asset market, before setting up Hillway Consulting during 2010.

Peter Hughes is an Associate of Hitt Search & the founding Director of Litmus Analysis, which he launched in 2010 to help the Insurance industry use counterparty credit ratings more effectively. Peter enjoyed a 20 year career as a Reinsurance Broker with the Sedgwick Group, specialising in European & Retrocessional business and ultimately managing the European Division, before turning gamekeeper with Standard & Poors in 1998. Peter’s progression through S&P included roles in their European / EMEA operations, initially sales & marketing and the training of analysts and more recently managerial responsibility for S&P’s ILS, Syndicated Bank Loan & Leveraged Finance rating operations. Peter was at the heart of S&P’s expansion into Europe during his 12 years with them and as a result has an extensive range of contacts throughout Insurance & Reinsurance and within the Rating Agencies & Capital Markets.

Andrew Rankin is is an Associate of Hitt Search and a Business Psychologist whose work includes Career Coaching, Leadership & Management Development and Organisational Change & Development. He is qualified in using Psychometrics (Levels A and B) including MBTI and the Hogan Development System. Andrew works in both the Private & Public sectors and specifically in Financial Services & Secondary Education through his consultancy Company, Career Mapping Limited. Andrew’s MSc thesis was on “The Meaning of Leadership in Regulated Organisations”.

Dickie Whitaker is an Associate of Hitt Search, a Director of the Financial Services Knowledge Transfer Network and one of the founding members of the Lighthill Risk Network. He is an expert in Catastrophe Modelling and regularly lectures on Risk Management techniques. Dickie began his career as a Reinsurance Broker with Sedgwick Payne in 1984. He moved from Guy Carpenter to EQECAT in 1994 to assist in the sale & development of Cat Models and later assumed responsibility for Risk Management Consultancy at Intermediary Systems Limited. In 2000 Dickie returned to Guy Carpenter to head up the Cat Modelling & Services division of Instrat, relocating to New York in 2003 to take responsibility for the Eastern Region of the USA, before returning to London in 2006 to run Analytical Services and later Business Development in Europe.
